Turkish Port of Aliaga discloses cargo traffic volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. The Turkish Port of Aliaga transshipped 11.29 million tons of cargo from January through February 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 262,942 tons, while vessels flying the flags of other countries transferred 11.03 million tons of freight.

"In the reporting period, the Aliaga port delivered 80.9 million tons of transit cargo," the ministry said.

Overall, Turkish ports handled 27.5 million tons of cargo in February 2023.

During this period, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 2.2 million tons of cargo via the local ports, while those flying the flags of other countries - 25.3 million tons.

A total of 5.6 million tons of transit cargo were transshipped via Turkish ports in February 2023.

Furthermore, the Turkish ports handled 59.6 million tons of cargo from January through February 2023.

During the mentioned period, the vessels flying Turkish flags transported 4.1 million tons of cargo, whereas the ships flying the flags of other countries handled 55.4 million tons of cargo through the Turkish ports.

A total of 12.1 million tons of transit cargo were shipped through the Turkish ports from January through February 2023.
