BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Azerbaijan’s total import value grew in February 2023, the State Customs Committee told Trend.
According to the committee, this figure amounted to nearly $2.6 billion, up by 34.4 percent compared to February 2022 (over $1.9 billion).
The share of the public sector in the total import in February this year equaled $728.1 million (27.49 percent of the total value), which is 2.4 times more than in the same month last year ($308 million).
Meanwhile, the share of the private sector stood at $1.6 billion (62.22 percent of the total import) increasing by 11.62 percent versus $1.4 billion in February 2022.
A total value of $272.67 million of the total Azerbaijani import fell on individuals (10.29 percent) in February 2023. This figure increased by 46.13 percent compared to February 2022 ($186.58 million).
Totally, Azerbaijan imported 5,832 and exported 1,691 units of goods, having carried out foreign trade operations with 136 partner countries in the reporting month.
Foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to $7.17 billion from January through February 2023, which is a decrease of $768.8 million (9.7 percent) compared to the same period in 2022 ($7.94 billion).
