As of July 1, there were 44,125 unemployed people, including 45.7 percent - women, the State Statistical Committee reported. The number of unemployed reduced 0.1 percent in January-June. Four unemployed claim for one vacancy in the country.
During the reported period, the economically active people in Azerbaijan made up 4,064,400, including 1,383,700 people as hired workers.
Of the hired employees involved in the production spheres: 12.4% in industry, 4.8% in construction, 2.7% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 25.5% in education, 19.5% in wholesale and retail trade, repair of automobiles, home wares and personal things, 10.1% in health and social services, 5% in transport and communications, 6.2% in communal, social and personal services, 5% in operations with real estate and rent, 4.2% in state government and defense, and 2.7% in other spheres.
In January-May, a total of 5,000 foreign workers were registered at the enterprises and organizations of the country. Of them, 1,400 were involved in industry, 1,500 in construction, 600 in operations with real estate and rent, 500 in wholesale and retail trade, 400 in education and 600 in other fields.
Average unemployment benefit is 157.8 manat.
