A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) and the National Statistics Office (Gruzstat) on the cooperation in statistics.
The document was signed by NBG Vice President Archil Mestvirishvili and Gruzstat Executive Director Zaza Chelidze.
"The methodology of statistical information handling significantly improved in recent years. This memorandum is another step in the process of bringing this process close to international standards," Mestvirishvili said.
The memorandum is based on the recommendations of the technical mission of the International Monetary Fund and defines a framework for cooperation in the statistical sphere between the NBG and Gruzstat.
