One person died and two injured during the strong fire occurred on a board of "Shirvan" cargo ship docked in the water area of Baku, a law enforcement source told Trend.

The Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration said that the bow of the ship "Shirvan" at the Ilham Allahverdiyev shipyard burst into flame on February 14 at 19:00.

The fire brigades of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations extinguished the fire at 23:00. As a result of the incident, three people were injured.

Despite the rendered medical aid decorator Garayev Raqif died at the hospital. Chief engineer Mirzoyev Shair and electric welder Garayev Yurka were placed at hospital.

At present, specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Azerbaijan State Maritime Administration and prosecutors conduct investigation to determine the causes of the incident.

The Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company said that at present, a committee consisting of the heads of the organization and shipping specialists, who investigate the cause of the incident, has been established.

Another victim of the fire was delivered to the Clinical Medical Centre.

"We received only one injured 40-year old Mirzoyev Shaig. He has minor maxillofacial injuries. His state is normal", the interlocutor of the agency reported.
