State Statistics Committee: Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover ups by 32.6 percent

Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $5.7 billion in January-March of 2011 compared to $4.3 billion a year earlier (an increase at 32.6 percent), the Economy Ministry and the State Statistics Committee's a joint statement on the first quarter of 2011 says.
According to the statement, Uzbekistan's exports increased by 28.5 percent compared to the same period of 2010 and amounted to $3.5 billion in the reporting period and imports grew by 37.5 percent and amounted to $2.2 billion. Foreign trade surplus exceeded almost $1.3 billion during the reporting period, increasing by 20.4 percent.
According to official statistics, Uzbekistan's foreign trade surplus increased by 1.8 times and amounted to $4.247 billion in 2010.

Foreign trade turnover of the country last year increased by three percent compared to 2009 and amounted to $21.842 billion, including exports increased by 10.8 percent - to $13.44 billion, imports decreased by 6.8 percent and amounted to about $8.798 billion.
