Pensions, scholarships to increase

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree on increasing salaries, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships from Jan. 1, 2012.

The document states that it is done to further improve the welfare of the population and social protection.

President Berdimuhamedov stressed that this important document testifies to the economic power of the state and the focus on the opportunities available to ensure the interests of the country and prosperous and happy life of the people.

According to the regulations, the highest amount of labor pensions was set to the amount of 645 manat per month, the minimum pensions of war veterans at a rate of 630 manat per month, the highest amount - 850 manat per month, the highest pensions of veterans, their spouses and veterans working in the rear, to the amount of 775 manat.

The minimum wage has been set to the amount of 400 manat in Turkmenistan.
