Iran’s technical export increases up to $4 bln

Iran 's export of technical and engineering services will increase up to more than $4 billion this solar year (started on March 20, 2011), IRNA quoted head of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization Hamid Safdel as saying.

"Iran has implemented the projects and exported technical and engineering services worth $2.7 billion in 2009," he said. The volume is expected to increase up to more than $4 billion."

Iran has capacity to transport 128 million tons of cargo annually, he added.

Iran non-oil export reached $17 billon during the first five months of this year while its import hit $22 billion.

The government plans to increase non-oil export up to $45 billion including commodities and technical services this year.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran is the third largest country in the Middle East and Central Asia in terms of exports and imports.
