Experts of Turkmenistan’s Garlyk Mining and Processing Plant for production of potash fertilizers have extracted over 260,000 tons of ore, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported Nov. 15.

The plant was commissioned in the spring of 2017.

“About 10,000 tons of environmentally friendly mineral fertilizers were sent by road and rail transport to agricultural producers of the Lebap, Mary, Akhal, Dashoguz and Balkan provinces of Turkmenistan,” said the report.

“The plant’s products will make it possible to not only fully meet the needs of the Turkmen agricultural sector in environmentally friendly potash fertilizers, but also annually export more than one million tons of products in demand on the global market,” the report noted.

The Garlyk Mining and Processing Plant is the Central Asia’s largest industrial complex with a capacity of 1.4 million tons of potash fertilizers per year.
