Prices of goods and services increase by 2.7% in Uzbekistan

Goods and services increased in price by 2.7 percent in the Uzbek consumer market in January 2018 compared to a 0.8 percent increase in January 2016, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee told Trend.

In particular, food products increased in price by 3.5 percent in January 2018 (1.2 percent in January 2016), non-food items increased in price by 2.3 percent (0.6 percent) and services - by 1.4 percent (0.6 percent).

The main inflation factor in January was the increase in food prices. Food prices increased by 3.5 percent for the month.

Meanwhile, non-food items' prices rose by 2.3 percent. In particular, prices for propane and methane sold to the population through filling stations increased by 10.2 percent and 11.2 percent since January, respectively.

The services rendered to the population increased in prices by 1.4 percent for the month.
