Since early February, JSC Uzpahtasanoat sold 4,600 tons of cotton fiber for a total amount of $8.2 million through exchange trades, the Uzbekistan Stock Exchange said in a message Feb. 23.
Presently, 40 standard contracts are opened at the Uzbekistan Stock Exchange for sale of different types of cotton fiber for export.
The average quotation for cotton fiber was $1,770 per ton.
In 2017, more than 2.93 million tons of raw cotton were produced in Uzbekistan, according to the official statistics.
Some 3.1 million tons of raw cotton are planned to be produced in Uzbekistan in 2018.
