The Balkan Shipyard at the international seaport of Turkmenbashi has all the capabilities to repair the ships of foreign companies operating in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper wrote Aug. 13.

At the moment, the renovation of three domestic vessels – two dry-cargo ships "Turkmenistan" and "Makhtumkuli" and the "Bitarap" oil tanker – is carried out at the Balkan Shipyard.

The shipyard plans to build vessels of various classes and types. Among them, there are RO-RO ferries for transportation of wheeled vehicles (cars, trucks, trailers and rail cars), tankers, bulk carriers, rescue, emergency ships and others.

In addition to the assembly of ships, repair of tankers, dry cargo ships, tug boats, etc. can be carried out here.

The shipyard can process 10,000 tons of steel per year. Every year, it is possible to build at least four vessels and to carry out maintenance and repair work on 20 vessels. The shipyard has been designed according to the requirements of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). It occupies a total area of 166,000 square meters.
