In August 2018, the number of vessels arriving in Turkey's ports amounted to 49,341, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Sept. 18.
During the period, the number of ships that arrived in Turkish ports flying the flag of Turkey was 26,067, while the number of vessels flying flags of other countries amounted to 23,274.
The gross registered weight of all vessels during the period was 548,762,032 tons.
The gross registered weight of vessels arriving in Turkish ports flying the Turkish flag amounted to 101,295,145 tons, and the gross registered weight of vessels flying the flags of other countries was 447,466,887 tons, the ministry said.
