Exports of Iran's Sistan & Baluchestan province up by over 100%

In the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), exports of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province increased by 117 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, Reza Rasti, an official with the customs administration of the province, told IRNA, Trend reports on March 6.

During the reported period, 1.43 million tons of goods worth $833 million were exported, Rasti said.

Main exports of the province are cement, dates, fruit and vegetables, he added.

He also noted that the goods were exported to Afghanistan, Pakistan and other countries.

During the reported period of 11 months, 621,000 tons of goods worth $842 million were imported through the province's customs and border markets.

The imports of the province increased by 35 percent in terms of weight, and 28 percent in terms of value, Rasti said.

Main import goods were rice, sesame, mango, sugar, household items and animals, he said.
