Most money transfers (40 percent) to Georgia came from the countries of the European Union in June 2019, Trend reports referring to the Parliament of Georgia.
In June 2019 there was a significant increase in remittances to Georgia.
According to the monthly budget management macroeconomic review, in June 2019, remittances to Georgia increased by 6.3 percent to $143.6 million (398.8 million lari).
The main sources of remittances are the EU countries (40 percent of the total remittances) and Russia (24 percent).
The volume of transfers grew significantly from Poland (86 percent), France (49 percent), Kazakhstan (45 percent), Ukraine (36 percent), Italy (24 percent), Greece (23 percent), Spain (20 percent), Germany (12 percent), the US (8 percent).
