Georgia's brandy export grows by over 40%

Georgia exported 19.5 million bottles (0.5 liters) of brandy to 23 countries of the world from January to September 2019, which is 44 percent more than in the same period in 2018, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Wine Agency.

Brandy export revenue totaled $42.5 million.

Over the past nine months, 473,200 bottles (0.5 liters) of chacha were exported to 24 countries. Export growth compared to the same period last year amounted to 65 percent. Chacha’s export revenue reaches $1.3 million, up 54 percent from last year.

In the nine months of 2019, Georgia exported about 65.2 million bottles (0.75 liters) of wine to 50 countries, which is 10 percent more than in the same period in 2018. The value of exported wine reaches $164 million, which is 16 percent more than in the same period in 2018.

In general, the revenue from the export of wine, brandy, chacha and other alcohol beverages amounted to $236 million, which is 6 percent more than in the same period last year.
