The General Motors (GM) plant in Thailand sent the first batch of Chevrolet Trailblazer SUVs to Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the statement of GM.

“We expect the Trailblazer to succeed in Uzbekistan, where various road conditions require a solid and reliable, yet comfortable four-wheel drive SUV. In addition, the presence of the Trailblazer will help strengthen Chevrolet's position as the dominant market leader in Uzbekistan while providing GM Thailand with more one international export market,” said Hector Villarreal, President of GM Southeast Asia.

It is expected that thousands of units of this car will be delivered to Uzbekistan annually and will go on sale in the coming months.

Moreover, representatives of Uzbekistan’s UzAuto Motors (formerly GM Uzbekistan) stated that the Trailblazer is on the list of models whose production is planned to be mastered in Uzbekistan in late 2019 and early 2020. Other new models included the Chevrolet Equinox crossover and the Chevrolet Traverse family crossover.

General Motors (GM) established its operations in Thailand in 2000. The company’s operations in Thailand include assembly and powertrain plants in Rayong and Chevrolet Sales Thailand.

GM Thailand’s product portfolio, which was developed in response to prevailing market trends and customer demand, includes the Colorado (pickup truck) and Trailblazer (PPV), under the Chevrolet brand..

GM Thailand’s Rayong manufacturing facility is a regional hub for engine and vehicle production both for domestic sales and export under the Chevrolet and Holden nameplates. It has built more than 1.3 million vehicles since 2000.
