Azerbaijan's main airport – Heydar Aliyev International Airport has compiled a rating of the most punctual airlines for Oct. 2019 and put Uzbekistan Airways in the third place, Trend reports citing the press service of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
Etihad Airways, the UAE's national carrier, and China Southern Airlines achieved the highest -100 percent punctuality rate in Oct. 2019 when departing from Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
At least 90 percent of scheduled flights were performed by Uzbekistan Airways, Qatar Airways, Aeroflot, Air Arabia and UIA (Ukraine International). Lufthansa (89.6 percent), flyNas (88.9 percent), Kuwait Airways (87.5 percent), Turkish Airlines (86.5 percent) and Belavia (86.4 percent) also achieved high results.
Overall, in Oct. 2019, 77 percent of the flights were carried out accordingly to the schedule or delayed by no more than 15 minutes.
In Oct. 2019, Heydar Aliyev International Airport has served 32 passenger airlines, which operated flights to more than 50 different destinations.
Heydar Aliyev International Airport (IATA: GYD) is the largest airport in Azerbaijan and the region in terms of passenger and freight traffic, the airport terminal area and capacity of the cargo complex.
Uzbekistan Airways was established at January 28, 1992 under the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov as a body of governmental management of civil aviation, providing development, co-ordination and realization of policy in the field of air transport within the territory of Uzbekistan.
Fleet of «Uzbekistan Airways» consists of the modern and comfortable aircraft: Boeing-757/767, Boeing-787-8 Dreamliner, А320, IL-114-100, as well as cargo freighters Boeing-767-300BCF.
