Azerbaijan's manufacturing of metal products increases

Production of raw materials in the metallurgical industry of Azerbaijan dropped by 20 percent from January through December 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, amounting to 763.5 million manat ($449.1 million), Trend reports referring to the report of country’s State Statistical Committee.

Nevertheless, the production of finished metal products increased by 82.4 percent, amounting to 214.6 million manat ($126.2 million). So, an increase by 35.5 percent was recorded throughout the industry, and the total gross production amounted to 901.4 million manat ($530.2 million).

In total, 326,400 tons of steel were smelted in Azerbaijan (dropped by 14.5 percent), 300,600 tons of rebar (dropped by 2.8 percent), 49,200 tons of steel pipes (increased by 3 percent), 6,800 tons of wire rod (dropped by 5.3 percent), 1,400 tons of rods, shafts and profiles (increased by 21.6 percent) were manufactured.

The production of primary alloys of raw aluminum dropped by 25.1 percent, amounting to 32,700 tons.

Prefabricated buildings made of ferrous metals worth 32.8 million manat ($19.2 million) were manufactured (increased by 87 percent), and 22,200 tons of other structures made of ferrous metals were produced (almost doubled). The production of flexible wires, cables and bare cables made of copper amounted to 4,860 tons, dropping almost two times.
