Demand for Turkish carpets in Turkmenistan down

In January-July 2020, the export of carpets from Turkey to Turkmenistan decreased by 49.31 percent compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to $1.141 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In July 2020, the export of carpets from Turkey to Turkmenistan decreased by 50.66 percent compared to July 2019 and amounted to $187,000.

From January through July 2020, the export of carpets from Turkey to world markets decreased by 7.3 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to $1.295 billion.

Exports of carpets accounted for 1.4 percent of the country's total exports during this period.

In July 2020, Turkey exported $ 249.085 million worth of carpets to world markets, which is 12 percent more than in the same month of 2019.

Exports of carpets in July 2020 accounted for 1.7 percent of the country's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (July 2019 - July 2020), Turkey has exported $ 2.432 billion of carpets.
