Russia exported 348,702 tons of oil and oil products to Georgia for a total amount of $130.3 million in 2020, which is 15,403 tons more compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
Also, in the reporting period, Russia exported 488,279 tons of wheat and meslin worth $107.3 million to Georgia, which shows an increase of 58,043 tons. In 2019, 430,236 tons of wheat and meslin totaling $90.6 million were exported from Russia to Georgia.
Other exports in the same period included:
- 27.8 tons of telephone sets worth $28.7 million
- 172,116 tons of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons in the amount of $47.3 million
During the last year, the export of petroleum gases and other gases from Russia to Georgia amounted to 142,686 tons totaling $41.8 million.
Meanwhile, Russia exported 41,902 tons of sunflower-seed, safflower, or cotton-seed oil and fractions thereof worth $41.01 million to Georgia.
In 2020, the foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia exceeded $1.32 billion, which comprises 11.7 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.
During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $441.07 million to the Russian market, which is 13.2 percent of total exports.
Meanwhile, Russian exported products worth $887.1 million to the Georgian market, which is 11.1 percent of total imports to Georgia.
