Azerbaijan exported aluminum and its products worth over $42.3 million from January through March 2021, which is nearly 2 times more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports on citing the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).
“The share of these products in a total export volume of Azerbaijan reached 1.02 percent. In the first quarter of 2021, this figure was equal 0.51 percent,” the SCC said.
“During the reporting period, Azerbaijan reduced the import of aluminum and its products by 26.3 percent, or $7 million, to $19.6 million. The share of these products in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.78 percent,” the SCC said.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through March 2021 amounted to about $6.66 billion, which is 2.6 percent less compared to the same period of last year.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $4.13 billion, down 1.6 percent on an annual basis. The share of exports decreased by 0.53 percent over the year - to 61.47 percent of the total volume of foreign trade turnover.
