Biggest share of Azerbaijan's GDP accounts for industry

The biggest share in the structure of Azerbaijan's GDP from January through April 2021 accounted for industry, amounting to 41.1 percent, which is by 1.8 percentage points more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports on May 16 citing the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

Some 10 percent in the structure of GDP accounted for trade and repair of vehicles (decline of 0.7 percentage points), 7.6 percent - transport and warehousing (an increase of 0.2 percentage points).

Agriculture, forestry and fishing accounted for 3.4 percent, construction - 5.7 percent. Less than 0.9 percent in the structure of GDP accounted for the hotel business and public catering, 1.9 percent for information and communications and 19.1 percent for other sectors of the economy.

Net tax revenues from import of products in the reporting period amounted to 10.3 percent of GDP, practically unchanged compared to the period from January through April 2020.

The volume of Azerbaijan's GDP from January through April 2021 decreased compared to the corresponding indicator of 2020 by 0.2 percent and amounted to 25.08 billion manat ($14.7 billion).
