Iran discloses volume of essential products imported via northern ports

More than 300,000 tons of essential products were imported to Iran through the northern ports of Iran during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), Director General of Government Trading Corporation (GTC) of Iran’s branch in Mazandaran Province Abbasali Vafayinejad said, Trend reports citing the corporation’s website.

The director general emphasized that Iran imported about 218,000 tons of wheat and 85,200 tons of crude edible oil through northern ports in 6 months.

He also added that Iran continues to import essential products through the northern ports.

According to Vafayinejad, the main task of the Government Trading Corporation of Iran is to provide the essential products such as rice, cooking oil, sugar and wheat. It is necessary to store these products during the year and meet the needs of the population.
