BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 3. Iran’s exports through the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), amounted to nearly 2.26 million tons worth $747 million, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi told IRNA, Trend reports.
The official noted that the non-oil exports through customs of the province for the reporting period increased by 3 percent in value, while decreased by 1 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
According to Khashi, the exported goods were mainly cement, travertine stone, coal, dates, gas, vegetables, washing powder, raisins and etc. These goods were mainly exported to Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Indonesia.
“In addition, 1.1 million tons of goods worth $1.11 billion were imported via the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province in 7 months, which is an increase of 50 percent in value, while a decrease of 18 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he added.
The official also said that the main imported goods wheat, rice, corn feed, mangos, bananas, sesame, potatoes, clothes, tea, spare parts for passenger cars and so on. The goods were imported from Russia, Pakistan, France, Afghanistan, Germany, India, the UAE, China and Thailand.
Khashi stressed that the province’s customs revenues for 7 months amounted to more than 11.6 trillion rials (about $276 million). This is 296 percent more than the same period last Iranian year.
