Iran sees increase in non-oil exports via Sistan & Baluchestan Province's customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Iran’s non-oil exports via the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 3 percent in value and 1 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Director for the Economic Affairs Department of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province Governor Office Mojtaba Shojaei told IRNA, Trend reports.

The director noted that, overall, 4.6 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $1.6 billion were exported through customs of the province for the last Iranian year.

He added that the main exported goods through the province’s customs for the reporting period were cement, coal, gas, dates, tomatoes, washing powder, raisins, shrimp, fish, etc.

Shojaei said that, the mentioned goods were mainly exported to Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Tajikistan, and Lebanon.

There are 12 customs offices and border markets in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Meanwhile, Iran exported over 111 million tons of non-oil products worth $48.8 billion within the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023).

This is an increase of 12.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the preceding Iranian year.
