BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Iran’s imports through the customs of Golestan Province (north-eastern Iran), increased by 10 percent in value and 102 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Director General of Golestan Province Customs Office Shahriar Shahriari said, Trend reports citing the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Shahriari, overall, 41,100 tons of goods worth $74.1 million were imported to Golestan Province within the last Iranian year.

He added that the main imported goods were monomer-styrene, crude soybean oil, various types of fabric, equipment and so on.

The official noted that in general, goods from 18 countries were imported to the province in the last Iranian year.

Shahriari also pointed out that the most value of goods - worth $26 million were imported from China, $15 million from Türkiye and $4 million from Turkmenistan, respectively.

In total, Iran imported 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion within the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023).

This is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period in the preceding Iranian year.
