BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. Iran’s non-oil exports through the Mirjaveh border terminal in Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 49 percent in volume for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Director General for Road Maintenance and Transportation Department of the province Ayyoub Kord said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The director general said that about 68,400 tons of non-oil products were exported by 2,930 trucks through the Mirjaveh border terminal within the mentioned month.
He added that the main exported products were liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), various hydrocarbons, and dates.
According to Kord, at the same time, 8,530 tons of goods were imported through the Mirjaveh border terminal in the 1st month.
In addition, 44,400 tons of cargo were transited via the mentioned border terminal during the reporting month, the director general noted.
“On average, 293 trucks crossed through Mirjaveh border terminal daily within the 1st month,” Kord also pointed out.
In total, 240,000 tons of non-oil products worth $76.5 million were exported through customs of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Provinces for the 1st month. The exports decreased by 17 percent in value and 22 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
Reportedly, Iran's non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, white oil, and mazut products.
Overall, Iran exported about 10.5 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $3.65 billion for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023).
This is a decrease of 12.9 percent in value, while an increase of 17.7 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
