Iran's imports from Russia surge

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. Iran's imports from Russia increased by 13.4 percent in value and 35.4 percent in volume, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

As stated in the data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported 2.08 million tons of goods from Russia worth around $1.05 billion for the reporting period.

Whereas, Iran's import from Russia stood at about 1.54 million tons worth approximately $924 million in the same period previous Iranian year.

The main import items were wood and wood materials, agricultural products, various types of equipment, etc. from Russia.

In the 7th month alone (September 23 through October 22, 2023), Iran’s import from Russia was nearly 276,000 tons worth over $122 million.

Overall, Iran imported 20.9 million tons of goods worth $36 billion in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023). This is an increase of 12.6 percent in value and 6.21 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
