Jeep announces prices on 2007 Patriot

(autoinsidernews) - The Chrysler Group announced that its all-new 2007 Jeep Patriot will have a U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $14,985 (including $560 destination) for a two-wheel drive Jeep Patriot Sport. A four-wheel drive Patriot Limited has a starting MSRP of $23,530.

The Jeep Patriot shares its platform with the Jeep Compass as well as the Dodge Caliber. Despite riding on a car-based architecture, Patriot upper level models with Jeep's Freedom Drive II Off-road Package are still Trail Rated. The Trail Rated Jeep Patriot sits 1 inch higher than non-Trail Rated versions and meets Jeep requirements for traction, water fording, articulation, maneuverability and ground clearance, with 9 inches of ground clearance, a 29.6-degree approach angle, a 34.2-degree departure angle and a 23.3-degree breakover angle. The Trail Rated Patriot has additional body sealing and high-mounted drivetrain vents to support 19-inch water fording capability, reports Trend.

The Jeep Patriot is powered by DaimlerChrysler's 2.4L World Engine delivering 172-hp. The engine is mated to a standard five-speed manual transmission or one of two optional continuously variable transmissions (CVT).
