SOCAR plans to increase gas pumping in underground gas facilities by 600 milion cubic meters in 2010

In 2010 the volume of gas reserves in Azerbaijani underground facilities will amount to 3 billion cubic meters, a message said. Last year the figure was about two billion cubic meters compared to 1,4 billion cubic meters in 2008.

About 1,9 billion cubic meters of gas are planned to be pumped in underground gas storage facilities this year compared to 1,3 billion cubic meters in 2009.

There is about 1,1 billion cubic meters of gas pumped into underground facilities of the country last season.

According to SOCAR, 507.7 million cubic meters of gas were pumped in Garadagh underground gas storage facility last year, and 794.9 million cubic meters - Kalmaz.

Pumping of gas into underground storage facilities in Azerbaijan for use in the autumn-winter period ends in October.

Currently, the country has two underground storage facilities, Garadag and Kalmaz.
