The departments of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents launched intensive measures to prevent the production and marketing of uncertified gas stoves and electrical and gas appliances, the committee reported on Monday.
The measures are aimed to protect the rights of consumers and the environment.
Given the increasing demand for heating equipment in the autumn-winter season, consumers should pay a special attention when purchasing electrical and gas appliances.
According to the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers' decision, persons bringing electrical and gas appliances into the market, must obtain a certificate of conformity informing about safe use. Thus, consumers must purchase household appliances only with a certificate of conformity. If necessary, trade facilities must provide services to install devices.
