KazMunaiGas Exploration and Production's joining the Kashagan Field project is of a rhetorical nature, General Director Askar Balzhanov told media.
"Kashagan is a rhetorical question for us," he said. "I do not know whether we will participate in it."
"We know that KMG has some difficulties with fulfilling its financial obligations, according to its share," he said.
He added that the company will study the question.
"If the company's shareholders find it beneficial, then we will work.
But there are proposals on our joining the project," he said.
