Azerbaijan receives about 18mln cu.m gas from Shah Deniz and ACG

Currently Azerbaijan receives approximately 17 to 18 million cubic meters of gas produced in the block of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields and Shah Deniz gas condensate field per day, a source on the oil and gas market said.

Of the total amount of gas produced, 9-10 million cubic meters is daily injected into underground storage facilities, the amount of reserves of which currently totals about 2.1 billion cubic meters.
The contract to develop the offshore Shah Deniz field was signed June 4, 1996. Participants to the agreement are: BP (operator) - 25.5 percent, Statoil - 25.5 percent, NICO - 10 percent, Total - 10 percent, LukAgip - 10 percent, TPAO - 9 percent, SOCAR-10 percent.

The gas received by SOCAR is directed to meet the domestic needs of Azerbaijan, provision of export operations, as well as the part is sent to be injected into Garadagh and Kalmaz underground storage facilities in Azerbaijan.
