The Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery appealed to the Neftgazelmitedgigatlahie Institute to develop reconstruction projects for Euro-3 standard diesel fuel and gasoline production.
"The refinery appealed to develop a project to the institute, which will carry out the necessary calculations," the source said.
The source said work to upgrade facilities to improve the quality of the refinery's products has not yet been launched, as the refinery should be prepared for the process and a project should be developed.
Azerbaijan processes oil at two Baku refineries with a total capacity of 20 million tons of oil per year. Both refineries are a part of SOCAR, which annually processes more than 7 million tons of oil from ffshore and onshore fields independently.
SOCAR produces Euro-2 standard diesel fuel and gasoline today.
