New software introduced at SOCAR gas stations

In May, gas stations, operating under the brand of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will work with new cash registers, SOCAR told Trend on Monday.

Operator of these gas stations is SOCAR Petroleum where parent company SOCAR owns a controlling stake.

According to the source, installation of new software in all 15 operating gas stations under the brand of SOCAR is currently underway.

"Installation has been already completed at some gas stations, and currently work is underway on the remaining stations. In the coming days, the stations will begin to work with new cash registers," the source said.

He noted that for the introduction of new cash registers, special software has been prepared.

New cash registers will be installed at gas pumps and the fuel will only flow into the vehicle's tank only after payment has been made. All data on the operations will automatically appear in the database of the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan.

Earlier the Minister of Taxes of Azerbaijan, Fazil Mammadov, signed an order to enforce the decision of the cabinet of ministers.

According to the document, registration and replacement of old vehicles for new cash registers was provided before the January 1, 2012. The new cash registers block the sale of oil and gas without the issuance of the checkout, which has a special design and technical performance and recorded in the state register.

SOCAR Petroleum shareholders are SOCAR (51 per cent) and the American firm A.P. International (49 per cent). SOCAR Petroleum was registered on Jan. 21, 2008.
