Kazakhstan increases coal production

The production of coal, natural gas and non-ferrous metals has increased in January-August 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency said on Tuesday.

The agency noted that natural gas production amounted to 27 billion cubic meters, or 102 per cent over the same period last year.

Gasoline production amounted to 1.9 million tons, or 109.3 percent of the corresponding period last year. Ferroalloy production amounted to 1.1 million tones, which is 0.7 percent higher compared to last year.

According to the report, the production of electricity in Kazakhstan amounted to 58, 6 billion kW / h, which is 4.5 percent higher than the same period last year.

Oil production, including gas condensate, was at 52.5 million tonnes in January - August of this year, which is 98, 4 percent to the corresponding period last year.

According to the agency, production of food and beverage, chemical and light industry, machinery, and petroleum refining increased. Production growth was observed in nine regions of the country. Decline recorded in Akmola, Atyrau, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Kostanai, Mangistau regions and Astana.
