BP delivers more associated gas to Azerbaijan in 3Q17

BP in a report on its activity in Azerbaijan for January-September 2017 has said it delivered 2.4 billion cubic meters of associated gas to Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in the reporting period as compared to 1.97 billion cubic meters a year before.

BP operates the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Associated gas is delivered to SOCAR free of charge as part of the ACG development.

According to a BP report on its activity in Azerbaijan, the company delivered an average of 8.6 million cubic meters of the ACG associated gas to SOCAR per day in 3Q17.

A contract for development of ACG block of oil and gas fields was signed in 1994. A ceremony to sign a new contract on development of the ACG block of oil and gas fields was held in Baku Sept. 14, 2017.

The new ACG participating interests are as follows: BP - 30.37 percent; AzACG (SOCAR) - 25 percent; Chevron - 9.57 percent; INPEX - 9.31 percent; Statoil - 7.27 percent; ExxonMobil - 6.79 percent; TP - 5.73 percent; ITOCHU - 3.65 percent; ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) - 2.31 percent.
