Propylene production in Iran to increase by 3M tons

Commissioning of seven projects will increase the production of propylene in Iran's petrochemical industry by three million tons a year, said Behzad Mohammadi, Iranian Deputy Minister of Oil and CEO of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company, Trend reports referring to the website of the company.

According to him, three of the seven projects are located in the Mahshahr Special Economic Petrochemical Zone and four are in the Kangan and Asaluyeh zones.

Mohammadi said that two oil refineries and six petrochemical facilities produce more than 900,000 tons of propylene annually.

He added that all of the propylene produced was consumed domestically. According to him, the increase in propylene production will help Iran's economy.
