Uzbekistan increases import of energy, oil products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24

Trend:

Uzbekistan has increased import of energy products from January through May 2020, Trend reports referring to www.nuz.uz.

In accordance with the official statistics, oil and oil products worth $342 million were imported into the country, coal, coke and briquettes worth $43.7 million (an increase of 2.2 times) and electric current worth $57.2 million (an increase of 2.7 times) from January through May 2020.

AS for the exports, statistics say the country exported natural and liquefied gas worth $311.8 million, electric current worth $52.2 million.

The import of food products has decreased, namely: import of sugar, sugar and honey products decreased by 24.5 percent, cereals and cereal products - by 2.2 percent.

There is also a decrease in import of the industrial goods, non-metallic mineral products (by 34.8 percent), cork and wood products (except furniture) (by 28.7 percent), the State Statistics Committee said.
