Uzbekneftegaz signs deal on engineering services with South Korean company

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9

Board Chairman of JSC Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev and President of South Korean company SK Engineering & Construction Jason Ann signed the engineering services agreement on providing engineering services to modernize the Bukhara Oil Refinery on July 6, 2020, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz press service.

The modernization of the Bukhara Refinery worth $533 million is planned to be carried out in three stages. After that the refinery will be able to process 2.5 million tons of oil and gas condensate per year.

The refinery capacity will be 1.2 million tons per year of Euro-5 gasoline, 200,000 tons per year of aviation kerosene and 750,000 tons per year of diesel fuel.

"Within the framework of this project, it is planned to build units of naphtha hydrotreater, isomerization of light naphtha, short-cycle adsorption to increase hydrogen purity, a catalytic cracking unit for fuel oil, reconstruction of amine purification units, gas oil hydrotreating, and atmospheric distillation of oil and gas condensate mixtures," the message said.

SK Engineering & Construction participated in the implementation of more than 400 oil and gas, petrochemical and energy projects, including 360 newly built plants and 59 modernization projects.
