Kazakhstan's oil output surpasses planned volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 14

By Nargiz Sadikhova – Trend:

Kazakhstan has extracted 64.7 million tons of oil and gas condensate during the first nine months of 2020, which is 0.5 percent more than the planned volume, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy, Nurlan Nogayev said, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.

This includes 20.2 million tons of oil extracted at the country’s Tengiz field (0.5 percent more than the plan), 11.5 million tons extracted at the Kashagan field (corresponds to the plan), and 9 million tons extracted at the Karachaganak field (2.2 percent more than the plan).

In turn, oil export amounted to 52.2 million tons, which also corresponds to the plan. Gas output amounted to 41.6 billion cubic meters, which is 1 percent below the plan. The domestic consumption of the commercial gas stood at 11.1 billion cubic meter, which also completely meets the plan.

Gas export volume amounted to 10.3 billion cubic meters, which is 21.4 percent less than the plan. The reason for the lower export volume is related to the lower gas export to China due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The oil processing volume amounted to 11.5 million tons, which is 1.9 percent less than the plan. The production of petrol stood at 3.2 million tons (1.4 percent more than the plan), of diesel fuel to 3.4 million tons (0.9 percent less than the plan).
