Kazakhstan's national operator for main oil pipelines reports decrease in oil transport

Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil JSC has transported 42.2 million tons of oil through the company’s system of main oil pipelines in 2020, which is 2.1 million tons or 5 percent less than in 2019, Trend reports citing the company.

The company’s oil cargo turnover through the system of main oil pipelines amounted to 35.8 billion ton-kilometers that is 1.7 billion ton-kilometers less than in 2019. The consolidated oil cargo turnover of KazTransOil JSC amounted to 43.7 billion ton-kilometers that is 1.8 billion ton-kilometers less than in 2019.

The volume of oil transportation to oil refineries of Kazakhstan decreased compared to 2019 by 1.2 million tons or 8 percent and amounted to 15.6 million tons of oil.

Some 4.9 million tons were supplied to the Atyrau oil refinery, 4.7 million tons to PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP, 4.9 million tons to Pavlodar petrochemical plant, 854,000 tons to JV CASPI BITUM LLP.

Furthermore, the volume of oil transportation through the Atyrau-Samara section of the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara main oil pipeline increased by 150,000 tons year-on-year and amounted to 14.4 million tons.

Transit through the TON-2 section of the oil pipeline located in Kazakhstan amounted to 10.9 million tons of oil, which is 61,000 tons less than in 2019.

Transshipment of 10.5 million tons of oil to the Atasu-Alashankou oil pipeline and 502,000 tons of oil to Caspian Pipeline Consortium JSC system of main oil pipelines was carried out in 2020, which is down by 297,000 tons and 1.2 million tons respectively.

Oil loading into tankers in the port of Aktau using the capacities of KazTransOil JSC amounted to 2.9 million tons which is 78,000 tons more than in 2019.

Some 15.8 million tons were transported through the oil pipeline system of Kazakhstan-China Pipeline LLP that is 317,000 tons less than in 2019. Freight turnover amounted to 14.3 billion ton-kilometers that is 222 million ton-kilometers less than the result of 2019.

The volume of oil transportation through the MunaiTas LLP pipeline amounted to 3.3 million tons that is 89,000 tons more than in 2019. In 2020 cargo turnover also increased by 90 million ton-kilometers, amounting to 1.3 billion ton-kilometers.

For the group of Batumi Oil Terminal LLC companies and Petrotrans Limited, the volume of oil, oil products, and gas transshipments amounted to 1.5 million tons for the reporting period that is 194,000 tons more than in 2019.

Main Waterline LLP supplied 28.4 million cubic meters of freshwater to consumers of the Atyrau and Mangistau regions of Kazakhstan through the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak water pipeline; the decrease in the volume of water supply compared to 2019 was 495,000 cubic meters.

KazTransOil JSC is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the main oil pipeline. It is included in the group of NC KazMunayGas JSC. It owns a diversified network of main oil pipelines with a length of 5,400 km.
