BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. The volume of transit oil transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline stood at 2.010 million tons from January through May 2022, versus 1.523 million tons in the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.

As such BTC’s transit oil transportation grew by around 32 percent year-on-year.

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan transported 11.781 million tons of oil, accounting for 79.8 percent of 14.771 million tons of oil pumped via Azerbaijan’s main oil pipelines, as compared to 11.125 million tons or 75.6 percent of 14.718 million transported in the first five months of 2021.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of Caspian regional crude oil and condensate continue to be transported via BTC.

BTC Co. shareholders are: bp (30.1 percent), SOCAR (25 percent), MOL (8.9 percent), Equinor (8.71 percent), TPAO (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), TotalEnergies (5 percent), ITOCHU (3.4 percent), INPEX (2.5 percent), ExxonMobil (2.5 percent) and ONGCVidesh (2.36 percent).
