BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. STAR Refinery of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Türkiye has produced 149,118 tons of naphtha in April this year, as compared to 128,487 tons in the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
As such, the data from Turkish Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK) reveals that the refinery has increased the output of this product by 16 percent.
SOCAR Türkiye plans to process over 12 million tons of oil at its STAR Refinery in 2023. In the manufacturing of petrochemical products, crude oil from the countries of the Black Sea region, Africa and a number of others is used.
The annual processing capacity of STAR Refinery is 10 million tons. It meets around 25 percent of Türkiye’s refined oil products. The refinery is able to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
STAR Refinery, with investment value of $6.3 billion came on stream in October 2018. Around $3.3 billion of the project’s cost was covered by loans.
