РђZERBAIJAN REDUCED ESSENTIALLY PURCHASING OF OIL AND GAS PIPES

In January-June 2005 Azerbaijan imported 88517,0 tons of various metallic pipes for on-shore and off-shore operations, which is by 53% lower of January-June 2004.

For the period specified the amount for the imported pipes was $85665,8 thousand, which is by 40.9% lower of the same period of 2004, the State Statistics Committee (SSC) told Trend.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is engaged in the oil-and-gas operations in the country, the foreign companies operate on the contracts of the PSA type and Joint Ventures with SOCAR with involvement of the foreign capital.

SSC noted, the pipes import for the oil-and-gas pipelines during January-June 2005 was 46818,3 tons, which is by 68.3% less of the first half of 2004.

The oil and gas pipes during this period of 2005 were imported in the amount $47597.7 thousand, which is by 51% lower of January-June 2004.

SSC also points out, the amount of drilling pipes bought during 6 months of 2005 is 17150,3 tons, which is by 9.2% less of January-June 2004. The total cost of the pipes import was $23647,0 thousand, which is by 5,5% less of January-June 2004.
