Рђzerenerji JSC plans to announce tender in late October on selection of the general contractor for implementation of the second stage of the SCADA sСѓstem introduction project, the head of the Azenerji Central Control Board Nurali Yusifov said in a statement on 14 October, Trend reports.
According to him, the first stage of the SCADA system introduction project performed by the German Siemens is currently underway. The project will be completed till the year-end, which will enable to establish a new national control system. The project’s first stage is funded by the German KfW Bank (1,5 million euro). The second stage will be implemented on the account of the World Bank loan.
Yusifov noted the automated operative control system will be introduced in 2006-2008 in Azerbaijan. It will be the most up-to-date system in Europe and the CIS countries. "The latest equipment will be used while the project implementation. Introduction of the system will enable to enhance the operational efficiency of the energy system, to liquidate operatively the damage, to decrease losses, to save the fuel”, he noted.
By the estimations of the World Bank experts $55 million will be required for implementation of the project’s second stage. From this amount $48 million will be the World Bank loan, $7 million вЂ" from the Azerbaijani side.
