The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) began realizing the program on increasing the own gas production, which in January caused significant increase of the gas production.
In January 2007, the Oil and Gas Production Union Azerneft of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 0,5 bln cu.m of gas, an increase of 36,9% from the same figure of last year, Trend reports. The largest volume of oil has been monitored in the 28 May OGPU which develops the shallow part of Gunashli field вЂ" nearly 0,3 bln cu.m of gas, an increase of 60,2% from the same period of 2006. The least volume of oil has been monitored in the field Muradkhanli. 50,000 cu.m of gas has been produced there in January.
