In January 2007, the Baku-based Oil Refineries, part of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) - Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery Plant (formerly Azerneftyanacag) and Azerneftyag, produced 744,150 tons of various oil products, that is 7.8% more than the corresponding period of 2006.
According to the State Statistics Committee, during this period the production of petrol grew by 18.4%, kerosene вЂ" 1.6%, diesel fuel вЂ" 28.3% and oil bitumen вЂ" 3.2%.
