Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr S. Aliyev/ Sidetracking is being carried out on the well - SDX-04 driled on the Azerbaijani condensate deposit of Shah-Daniz , a source in BP Azerbaijan has said. The drilling works are carried out by means of the semi-submersible Platform- "Istiglal".
The depth of the well is about 7350 meters. The sidetracking is carried out from the well depth at 4300-4500 meters. Its length may reach 2000 meters. About three months are needed to carry out these sidetracking works.
According to specialists, the sidetracking will enable obtaining additional data from the deposit less drilling a new well.
The contract on the development of "Shahdaniz" field was signed in 1996 in Baku. The parties to the project are: BP (the operator - 25,5%), Statoil - 25,5%, SOCAR, LUKoil, NICO and TOTAL- both 10%, and TPAO - 9%.
The gas reserves of the "Shah-Daniz" Deposit are estimated at 1 bln. cubic meters of gas and over 100 mln. tons of gas condensate.
